Style shapes, text, and images

Select an object on a slide and the panel on the right fills with its style controls. This page lists every section, top to bottom, and what each control does.

Which sections you see depends on the object. Stroke, Sketch, and Appearance show for everything. Fill shows for shapes and text boxes, not for images or arrows. The Text, Image, and arrow sections each show only for their own kind of object. With more than one object selected, you see the controls they share.

With nothing selected, the panel shows the slide background instead. See Slide backgrounds.

Transform

Position, size, and rotation, in slide units.

Control	What it does
X, Y	The top-left corner's position
W, H	Width and height
Keep aspect ratio	Locks width and height together when you resize
Angle	Rotation in degrees

Text

Shows for a text box. Controls the type itself; the box behind it uses the Fill and Stroke sections below.

Control	What it does
Font	The typeface
Size	Font size in points
Color	Text colour
Style	Bold, Italic, Underline, and Strikethrough
Align	Left, centre, right, or justified
Vertical	Top, middle, or bottom of the box

Spacing

Control	What it does
Letter	Space between letters
Line	Line height
Padding	Inset between the text and the box edge

Image

Shows for an image. Sets how the picture sits in its box.

Control	What it does
Fit	Fits the whole picture inside the box
Fill	Fills the box, cropping the overflow
Stretch	Stretches the picture to the box, ignoring its proportions

Arrows

An arrow has its own sections in place of Fill. If the arrow has a label, a Text section with Font and Size appears above them.

Arrow:

Control	What it does
Type	Sharp, Curved, or Elbow
Edges	For elbow arrows, Sharp or Rounded corners

Arrowheads:

Control	What it does
Start	The head at the start: None, Arrow, Triangle, Bar, or Circle
End	The head at the end, with the same options

Fill

The colour inside a shape or text box. Set a solid colour or a two-stop gradient, or turn the fill off.

Control	What it does
Style	How the fill is drawn: Solid, Hachure, Cross-hatch, or Zigzag

The hatch styles draw the fill as loose pen strokes rather than a flat block, to match the hand-drawn look.

Stroke

The outline of the object.

Control	What it does
Color	Outline colour
Width	Line thickness
Style	Solid, Dashed, or Dotted

Shape

Shows for shapes and images that carry a corner or edge treatment.

Control	What it does
Corners	Straight, Curved, or Round corners
Edges	For lines, Sharp or Rounded

Sketch

Control	What it does
Style	How rough the drawing looks: Architect (clean), Artist, or Cartoonist (loosest)

Every object is drawn with a hand-sketched line. This setting controls how much it wobbles.

Appearance

Control	What it does
Opacity	How see-through the object is, from 0 to 100

Arrange and align
