Clean up orphaned data

last updated at: Sep 11, 2026

Over time, your server may accumulate accounts that are not part of your organisation and are not guests. These are called orphaned accounts. They appear in the Users list in Admin, marked with a no organisation badge in place of a role, where you can review them and delete any you no longer need.

You need an admin or owner role to do this.

Find orphaned accounts

  1. Open the Users page in Admin.

Orphaned accounts sit in the list alongside your members, but with a no organisation badge where a member would show a role. You can search by name or email address using the bar at the top.

Review an account

Click the account to open its detail panel on the right. You can see the person's name, email address, storage use, and when the account was created.

Delete an account

Deleting an account permanently removes it and all its data. This cannot be undone.

  1. Click the account you want to remove.
  2. Scroll to the Danger zone section at the bottom of the detail panel.
  3. Click Delete user, read the confirmation, and confirm.

The account is deleted immediately.
