Get started with Calendar

Calendar is where you keep your schedule in Eigen. You can create events, invite other people, and see calendars that others have shared with you. This page is a quick tour of the layout and the things you'll do most.
The two views
Calendar opens in the Month view. Each cell in the grid is a day, and your events appear inside it. Today's date is highlighted with a filled circle.
To switch to the week grid, open the dropdown in the top-right corner of the toolbar and pick Week. The week view shows seven columns, one per day, with events listed in time order inside each column. All-day events appear at the top of the column.
The dropdown remembers your choice as you navigate.
Navigate between dates
The toolbar at the top has three controls for moving around:
- Click Today to jump back to the current date.
- Click the left or right chevron buttons to move one month (or one week) backwards or forwards.
The title in the toolbar updates to show the period you're looking at: a month name and year in the month view, or the date range of the week in the week view.
Your calendars
The sidebar lists the calendars you own under My Calendars. Each calendar has a colour-coded checkbox next to its name. Tick or untick the checkbox to show or hide that calendar's events in the grid.
If someone has shared a calendar with you, it appears under Shared with me. Team calendars show up under Team Calendars. You can show or hide these the same way.
Create an event
There are two ways to open the New Event dialog:
- Click Create event at the top of the sidebar.
- Click directly on a day in the grid. The dialog opens with that date already filled in.
In the dialog:
- Type a title in the Add title field at the top.
- Set the date and time. To make it an all-day event, tick All day and the time pickers are replaced with a date range.
- If the event repeats, open the recurrence dropdown (it says Does not repeat by default) and choose an option such as Daily, Weekly on [day], or Every weekday (Monday to Friday).
- To invite people, type a name or email address into the Add guests field and click the + button. Each person appears in the list below with a Pending status until they respond.
- Add an optional Add location or Add description.
- If you have more than one calendar, use the calendar picker at the bottom to choose which calendar the event belongs to.
- Click Save.
The event appears in the grid straight away. Click it to see its details.
What's next
