Show or hide calendars

You can have several calendars in Calendar, for example one for work and one for personal events, plus calendars that other people have shared with you. The sidebar lets you show or hide any of them without deleting anything.

Show or hide one of your own calendars

Your calendars are listed under My Calendars in the sidebar on the left.

Each calendar has a small coloured square next to its name. That square is a toggle:

• When it is filled with colour and shows a tick, the calendar is visible. Its events appear in the view.
• When it is empty (no fill, no tick), the calendar is hidden. Its events are not shown.

Click the square to switch between visible and hidden. The change takes effect straight away.

Show or hide a shared calendar

Calendars that other people have shared with you appear under Shared with me. Team calendars from groups you belong to appear under Team Calendars. Both work the same way: click the coloured square next to a calendar's name to show or hide it.

Change a calendar's colour or name

Each calendar in My Calendars has an edit button that appears when you hover over it. Click the pencil icon on the right to open the Edit Calendar dialog. From there you can:

• Change the calendar's name in the Calendar Name field.
• Pick a new colour by clicking the colour swatch on the left.

Click Save when you are done.

For calendars under Shared with me or Team Calendars, click the pencil icon to open Shared Calendar Settings. You can choose a different display colour for that calendar. This only affects how the calendar looks for you; it does not change the colour the owner set.

Delete a calendar you own

Open the Edit Calendar dialog for the calendar you want to remove, then click Delete. This removes the calendar and all the events in it permanently.

You cannot delete your default calendar.

Remove a shared calendar from your view

If you no longer want to see a calendar under Shared with me, open its Shared Calendar Settings (the pencil icon on hover) and click Remove. The calendar disappears from your sidebar. The owner's calendar and events are not affected, and the owner can add you again if needed.

Team calendars under Team Calendars do not have a Remove option.
