Move and reorder cards

last updated at: Jun 8, 2026

You can rearrange cards on a board by dragging them. Drag within a column to change their order, or drag to a different column to move them there. You can reorder columns themselves the same way.

You need write access to the board to drag anything. If you only have view access, cards are not draggable.

Reorder cards within a column

  1. Point at the card you want to move. The cursor changes to a grab cursor.
  2. Click and hold, then drag upwards or downwards.
  3. When the card is in the position you want, release.

The other cards shift to make room as you drag.

Move a card to a different column

  1. Click and hold the card, then drag it sideways towards the target column.
  2. Hover over a card in the target column to insert your card above it, or hover over the empty area at the bottom of the column to add it there.
  3. Release to drop it.

Reorder columns

The column title bar is the drag handle for the whole column.

  1. Click and hold anywhere on the column's title bar (the row that shows the column name and the + and pencil buttons).
  2. Drag left or right until the column is in the position you want.
  3. Release to drop it.

Undo a move

If you drag something to the wrong place, press Cmd+Z (Mac) or Ctrl+Z (Windows and Linux) to undo. Cmd+Y or Cmd+Shift+Z (Mac), or Ctrl+Y (Windows and Linux) redo a step you have undone.

On mobile

Columns fill the screen width on a phone. Swipe left or right to move between them. Drag-to-move still works by touch: press and hold your finger on a card or column title bar, then drag.
